On October 6-7, 2004, a conference organized by the Indexing and
Classification Committee (KORZ) of the Polish Librarians Association, the
National Library, and the Institute of Scientific Information and Book
Studies, Warsaw University, will be held at the National Library, Warsaw.
The participants of the conference will attempt to present the achievements
of American and British librarianship in the field of subject cataloging,
classification and indexing, and to discuss which American and British
ideas and solutions are already implemented in Polish libraries, and which
could be applied. The conference will be attended by American, British and
Polish librarians. Additional information on the proceedings can be
