Uczestnicy Krajowego Zjazdu Delegatów Stowarzyszenia Bibliotekarzy Polskich obradujący w dniach 4-5 czerwca 2005 r. w Warszawie:

• wyrażają sprzeciw wobec prześladowania kubańskich bibliotekarzy organizujących niezależne placówki biblioteczne,
  
  
• żądają uwolnienia z więzień kubańskich kolegów - bibliotekarzy i pozostałych osób działających na rzecz wolności słowa, wolności intelektualnej oraz nieograniczonego dostępu do dorobku myśli ludzkiej,
  
  
• zwracają się do innych organizacji bibliotekarskich oraz IFLA o zjednoczenie wysiłków na rzecz obrony niezależnych bibliotekarzy na Kubie i wsparcia tworzonych tam niezależnych bibliotek.

(Uchwałę przyjęto przy trzech głosach wstrzymujących się)

RESOLUTION OF THE NATIONAL CONGRESS OF DELEGATES
OF THE POLISH LIBRARIANS ASSOCIATION

Participants of the National Congress of Delegates of the Polish Librarians Association, who have deliberated on June 4-5, 2005, in Warsaw:

• express their protest against the persecutions of Cuban librarians, who organize independent libraries,
  
  
• demand the release from prison of fellow librarians and the remaining individuals acting for the cause of freedom of expression, intellectual freedom and unlimited access to the intellectual accomplishments of humanity,
  
  
• appeal to other library organizations, as well as IFLA, to join efforts in the defense of independent librarians and in the support of the forming independent libraries in Cuba.

(The resolution was approved with three abstentions)

RESOLUCIÓN DEL CONGRESO NACIONAL DE DELEGADOS
DE LA ASOCIACIÓN DE LOS BIBLIOTECARIOS POLACOS

Los participantes del Congreso Nacional de Delegados de la Asociación de los Bibliotecarios Polacos, que han deliberado entre el 4 y 5 de junio 2005, en Varsovia:

• expresan su protesta en contra de las persecuciones de los bibliotecarios cubanos, que están organizándo bibliotecas independientes,
  
  
• exigen la liberación de las cárceles de los colegas cubanos, los bibliotecarios y los individuos restantes, que actúan con la causa de la libertad de expresión, la libertad intelectual y el acceso ilimitado a los bienes intelectuales de la humanidad,
  
  
• apelan a otras organizaciones bibliotecarias, además de la IFLA, en unir sus esfuerzos en la defensa de los bibliotecarios cubanos independientes y demandan su apoyo para las bibliotecas independientes que se están formando en Cuba.

(La resolución fue aprobada con tres abstenciones)
