On September 2, 2004, in Olsztyn, a library for the youth, called, 'Planet 11' (a second of this kind, co-sponsored by the Bertelsmann Fund) opened its doors to the public.
The users will have at their disposal an Internet-ready facility with thirteen workstations, three of them with multimedia, an extensive software, a few printers, a Xerox machine, a scanner, CD and DVD players.
First and foremost however, the readers will have the use of this library's collection - around 12,000 items.
There is also a small café on the premises, for those in need of a little respite while reading or conducting research.
The library hours are 10a.m to 8p.m., Monday till Friday, 10a.m till 4p.m. on Saturdays; there is also a round-the-clock book drop-off.
The management sincerely hopes that 'Planet 11', a modern multi-media library for young people will meet its users' needs and expectations and, in time, will become their favourite meeting spot.
