Why the decrease in the use of foreign-language citations?
The author tries to analyze the decreasing tendency in quoting foreign-language sources in Polish periodicals on library science and scientific information, particularly in the first decade of system transformation. Such a decrease has been caused by the implementation of market economy, the digitalization of information processing and, consequently, by the increased use of foreign-language sources on psychology, information technology or management. It unlikely, however, that this tendency should continue.
