Art. 1: Beata Łaszewska-Radwańska ,
Periodicals for children and youth - from "Rozrywka dla dzieci" until the beginning of Second World War.

This article presents short bits of information about the oldest periodicals for kids and teenagers, such as: "Rozrywki dla dzieci", "Tygodnik dla dzieci", "Dziennik dla dzieci", and others. The article evokes the most popular titles from the 20-year period between the First and Second World Wars - "Płomyk", "Płomyczek", "Słoneczko", "Moje Pisemko". The chronological table of newspapers published from 1824 till 1939 (a total of 48 titles) complements the article.

Periodicals for children and youth . Bibliography 2000-2005.

This article gives a selection of articles regarding the press for children and teenagers presented in some professional periodicals. The bibliography comprising some 54 units was proceeded by general remarks about press market. The table showing the actual number of titles along with the frequency of publishing in the years 1998-2005 is particularly interesting.

The twelve-year-olds and periodicals.

The author discusses results regarding the readership among six-graders. Those children like to read magazines - they named 51 titles in total. The most popular ones - "Bravo", "Bravo Girl", "Twist", "13", "Popcorn", "Bravo Sport", "Victor Junior", "Kaczor Doland". Girls are the majority of readers.

The role of Catholic periodicals in lives of children and youth.

The author discusses the role and influence of periodicals on views and opinions of children and teenagers. The titles for children such as: "Jaś", "Promyczek Jutrzenki", "Mały Gość Niedzielny", "Dominik", "Anioł Stróż", - are mentioned as well as "Nasza Droga", "Ruah", "Miłujcie się - for teenagers.

"Luisa's twist in Popcorn", or a few words on periodicals for teenagers.

The article presents information about 'fun' periodicals for young readers, their topics and ideological profile. The situation before year 1989 is mentioned in the preface, and the dynamic change on the market of periodicals in the beginning of the nineties is underlined.

Art. 6: Jadwiga Kotulska, Ewa Ral,
The history of the Chain Library of Olesnica.

The authors present the history, collection and work calendar of works related to salvaging the Olesnica Library book collection. The library was established in 1594 and is one of the few well- preserved chain libraries in the region of Silesia.
