The "Campaign For America's Libraries" and the "Campaign for the World's Libraries".

Translation of the paper presented at the Associazionne Italiano Biblioteche conference in 2004. The paper describes the activities of the American Library Association in the "Campaign for the World's Libraries". The Campaign is based on the "Campaign for America's Libraries". Project goals and ways of promoting Campaign and its brand name are discussed.

Library advocacy. A campaign for undergraduates at American University.

American University Library designed and implemented a plan to increase student awareness of library services using the @ your library® marketing toolkit developed by the Association of College and Research Libraries in conjunction with the American Library Association advocacy campaign. The paper offers a chronology of steps and techniques used to craft a library marketing plan and design a campaign targeting undergraduate students. The author reflects on the importance of library outreach activities implemented in conjunction with a strategic marketing plan.

What is to be done to promote a positive image and the value of Italian libraries?

Translation of the paper presented at the Associazionne Italiano Biblioteche conference in 2004. The paper discussed the position of libraries in democratic societies and what could be done to stress importance of the libraries. @ your library project is one of the tools which might help to achieve those goals. Promoting positive image of librarians is also very important.

How to change librarian's image?

The image of the librarian is very stereotypical. Polish librarians are aware of this problem but they have not worked out any plan of change their image, yet. American librarians elaborated The Campaign for America's Libraries @your library®. This action, which has been taken over by IFLA, contains a marketing strategy to change librarian's image. Unfortunately, Polish Librarians Association does not want to join this campaign.

Could the library be a stress cause?.

Article is focused on library anxiety problem. It examined the causes of the library anxiety and gives some solutions of the problem. One of the good solutions is to organise face to face training for newcomers. As a good example of that kind of service the authors describes the newcomers sessions held in The Czestochowa University of Technology Main Library.

"How good as you are", systems librarians see with producers of computer programs eyes .

This article covers the role of a system librarian in the process of library computerization. Characteristics of a perfect system librarian were defined, such as his objectives, duties and responsibilities, and his position as an employee in a library structure. 2005
