The academic library in the light of current legislation.
The article is concerned with the legal basis of academic libraries in Poland. It describes the principles of library organisation, functions and duties, which focus mainly on educational, information and research activities, as well as, the co-operation with other libraries. The author calls for a precise qualification of academic library work and organisational structure, which should be included in the new law of higher education.

Library activities under the regime of Copyright Law.
The author discusses a number of problems concerning library activities in the digital environment. The article presents international regulations, particularly EU directives as well as Polish Copyright Law regulations at issue. Description of recent developments in Polish Copyright and Neighboring Rights are also discussed.

Scientific journals - change of the financing model.
The article is about current discussion in international academic world about pricing of scientific journals particularly those in digital format. Publishers raise prices of its which of course cause many problems in libraries budgets. In order to solve financial problems libraries cuts on their subscriptions and try to find different sources of information such as Open Access Journals. Developments in Polish law are also mentioned.

A project of a lobbying bill - possibilities for library organizations.
The article specifies the rules and allowed forms of lobbying for decisions made by public administration bodies. A register of lobbyists will be introduced in Polish regulations. The author examines bill by marking all possible ways of using it by libraries organisations.

Both articles discuss current status of public libraries in Croatia. After dramatic situation at the beginning of 90s libraries try to develop their activities and services. Authors describe organizational structure of libraries, financing models, law regulations. Many of statistical date are also provided.
