Supplementing existing libraries with electronic sources has become a standard in our country as the new aids and systems gradually become accessible. The article includes tabulation of search tools' features and capabilities.

The article summarises the process of creating catalogue Onet.pl. It presents principles and creative criteria required for construction of www pages catalogue. They are as follows: classification by subject, reliability of transmitted information, division by topics, building a catalogue structure, creating titles and pages' content. The graduates of library science and scientific information accomplish the majority of work.
